About us:

At Hospital Metropolitano, we have established the Centro de Pérdida de Peso (Weight Loss Center) with the commitment to provide comprehensive and excellent care to our patients.

Our goal is to offer personalized solutions through bariatric surgery, supported by a highly skilled team of specialists working together to ensure the best outcome.

What is bariatric surgery?

Bariatric surgery is a set of surgical procedures designed to modify the digestive system in order to promote effective and sustained weight loss.

These interventions are recommended when other methods—such as diet, exercise, or medication—have not been effective, or when there are health problems associated with being overweight or obese.

Types of Bariatric Surgery

These procedures improve quality of life and alleviate many conditions—such as high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, and heart problems.

Gastric Bypass

A small pouch is created in the stomach, connected directly to the small intestine. This reduces the amount of food that can be consumed and promotes weight loss.

Gastric Sleeve

80% of the stomach is removed, leaving a tubular shape similar to a banana. This limits the amount of food you can eat and also induces hormonal changes that further aid in weight loss.
